EVENING RITUAL: RECIPE FOR AN AYURVEDIC MOON MILK

AYURVEDIC MOON MILK (SLEEPING MILK)

Difficulty falling asleep has become extremely common these days. We live in a world where we rarely manage to truly switch off and relax. Both are prerequisites for good, restful sleep.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, there are several things you can do to help you fall asleep more easily: This includes, for example, a short evening routine where you slowly unwind and prepare your body for sleep. Warm drinks, for example, have a calming effect. They are not only soothing for the soul, but also warm the body from within, thus automatically having a relaxing effect. This recipe for moon milk is enriched with natural adaptogenic herbs and medicinal mushrooms that can help you fall asleep more easily.

Ideally, you should drink the milk about 1-2 hours before going to bed. According to Ayurveda, the pinch of nutmeg it contains has a calming effect on the nervous system. Cinnamon also has a calming effect and reduces Vata. In Ayurveda, Vata represents the principle of movement and is responsible for inner restlessness. In the evening, it's essential to reduce Vata. INGREDIENTS (for one cup):

  • 1 cup plant milk
  • 2 YLUMI SLEEP CAPSULES
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp maple syrup (optional)

PREPARATION:

  1. Open the YLUMI SLEEP CAPSULES and pour the contents into a pot.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients and heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Once the milk is hot, simply pour it into a mug and enjoy.
  3. Sleep well!
