“The name YLUMI comes from 'illuminate'. The Y stands for yin and yang—meaning 'balance'. And so our motto is: Shine in balance!”
Glad you found us. I'm Amely, the founder of YLUMI. I'd like to give you a brief insight into the origins of our young family business. Because behind YLUMI is my personal story:
A few years ago, after a stressful period at university, I developed serious health problems. I saw many doctors, but unfortunately, nothing led to real improvement. Only a visit to a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and treatment with a herbal mixture brought relief. This gave rise to the desire to develop my own effective everyday remedies and thus provide other people with access to high-quality, 100% vegan herbal formulas.
In 2017, I founded the company YLUMI together with my brother Ben. Together with a team of TCM experts and nutritionists, we create premium nutritional supplements for every need in Berlin. We work with a lot of love and passion to offer you the best recipes and products.
THE FIRST FORMULA
Our first product, the PURIFY CAPSULES, are the heart of our story – and the beginning of YLUMI.
Born out of Amely's personal experience with rheumatic complaints and the desire for more inner balance, PURIFY was developed as a gently activating formula to support the immune system, metabolism, and cell protection .
The capsules combine powerful ingredients such as moringa, spirulina, ginseng, schisandra, dandelion root, turmeric and Agaricus blazei Murill , supplemented by a natural vitamin B complex , vitamin C from rose hips and vitamin D3 from lichens – 100% vegan, pure and without additives.

Our recipes are based on the millennia-old knowledge of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine (TCM) – an independent healing system that views body, mind, and lifestyle as an inseparable unit. Its central goal is to harmonize imbalances within the body .
TCM rests on five pillars: acupuncture, nutrition, herbal medicine, manual therapy, and lifestyle (yangsheng) . At YLUMI, we focus particularly on herbal and medicinal mushroom therapy —one of the oldest and most effective pillars of this holistic approach.
For over 2,000 years, Chinese herbal medicine has used mushrooms and herbs not only as medicinal remedies, but also as nutritional support in everyday life . Their effects are classified according to taste, temperature, organ function, and direction of action—a differentiation that allows for the targeted and harmonizing use of the plants.
Our modern recipes are created in close collaboration with TCM experts and are complemented by in-depth knowledge from Western nutritional science – for contemporary, holistic products that bring body and mind into harmony.

At YLUMI, responsibility towards the environment and our community is our core. We proactively engage in sustainable practices to protect our environment and have a positive impact on society.
Our products are manufactured with the utmost care and under strict quality controls. We use only natural raw materials to provide the best nutritional supplements for your well-being.
Our goal is to continuously increase the proportion of sustainable packaging we use. We are always looking for new, even more environmentally friendly shipping options and strive to make our entire logistics process as sustainable as possible.
We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that all materials we use are ethically and fairly sourced. We ensure fair working conditions and fair wages throughout the supply chain.
We stand for transparency and honesty with our community. We openly inform about our actions, production processes, and the ingredients in our products to build our customers' trust.
We minimize our ecological footprint through environmentally friendly packaging, resource-efficient production processes, and the promotion of recycling. We developed our refill packs to extend the life of our violet glass jars. You can also find upcycling ideas for our jars on our blog.
Our goal is to minimize our environmental impact. Therefore, we plan to support various environmental projects in the future that aim to preserve and promote biodiversity. This includes supporting reforestation projects and protecting endangered ecosystems.
All our capsule shells are made of plant cellulose (100% vegan, without gelatin) and are PEG or carrageenan-free, meaning they are free from microplastics and other additives.
Only water and hypromellose (from plant fibers) are used in production. We pay meticulous attention to the purity of our capsule shells, generally work without any fillers, additives, or preservatives in all our products, and have our recipes continuously tested by independent laboratories.
Every natural raw material we use comes with a batch-specific certificate of analysis with information on microbiology in accordance with EU guidelines. We are currently working on making these ingredient certifications available to you digitally.
Our goal is to promote holistic health and provide comprehensive education. We place great emphasis on imparting knowledge about Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), adaptogens, and the ingredients in our products.
In addition to our commitment to the environment, we also support social projects and initiatives. We are committed to education, health, and social justice and work with organizations that share these values.
For us, this also includes the well-being of our employees. Our priority is to always create a working environment in which our employees feel comfortable, can develop their full potential, and achieve long-term success.
In the future, we would like to continue to support targeted educational and health projects in our community and around the world. Our goal is to improve access to healthcare and education through partnerships with nonprofit organizations and initiatives. We hope to raise awareness of holistic health and well-being through workshops, seminars, and educational campaigns.
