How is our skin structured?
As the largest organ, our skin breathes, absorbs, protects, detoxifies, and stores all the substances it touches. Proper care, cleansing, and protection from environmental influences are just as important as caring for it from within. The skin is divided into layers: Beneath the epidermis are the dermis and the subcutaneous tissue.
A key component of the skin are ceramides (natural lipids), which are found in all four layers of the epidermis. Like a kind of "glue," they bind the skin's surface cells together and hold them together. Ceramides also improve skin density, retain moisture, and protect against allergens and skin diseases.
As we age, ceramide stores deplete. To support the skin from within, ceramide supplementation is recommended starting at approximately the age of 30.
How does the new Smooth Skin Set work?
The 2 phases
For the 2-Phase Smooth Skin Set, we used the most clinically studied phytoceramides, which are chemically identical to the naturally produced ceramides in the skin. The ingredients
Lipowheat ™
Bio-Lipowheat™ (gluten-free wheat extract) is a unique complex of concentrated phyto-ceramides obtained through a patented process and proven to help the skin retain moisture and reduce visible wrinkles.
Astaxanthin
Organic astaxanthin is a natural substance from the carotenoid class, found in algae, for example. It is known as an antioxidant and is valued as a powerful free radical scavenger against oxidative stress.
Pleurotus extract (oyster mushroom)
Pleurotus is valued worldwide for its valuable essential amino acids, polysaccharides and high protein content and is particularly interesting for vegetarians and vegans.
Reishi
The "mushroom of eternal life" has been valued as a natural rejuvenating agent in Asia and Europe for thousands of years. It is said to protect cells from harmful free radicals and can therefore slow down skin aging.
Natural vitamin B complex
In addition, the new Smooth Skin Set contains all the important B vitamins to support the skin, nerves, and hormonal system.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins and ensures a healthy immune system. It also supports collagen production in the skin, thus influencing skin health and the formation of wrinkles. Since acerola is one of the fruits richest in vitamin C, we used vitamin C from acerola fruit juice powder for the Smooth Skin Set.
zinc
Zinc – a powerful trace element. It contributes to the maintenance of hair, nails, and skin by supporting protein synthesis and collagen formation. For this new formula, we've used it in the form of guava leaf extract.
Vitamin D
In addition to its immune-boosting effect, vitamin D also helps strengthen muscles, can reduce vascular disease, strengthen the heart, and protect nerve cells in the brain. It also has a positive effect on the psyche.
Organic linseed oil
The organic flaxseed oil used in the formula is rich in unsaturated fatty acids. It helps the body absorb the nutrients mentioned above and increases their bioavailability.
