FOOD COMBINING RULES: HOW TO EAT YOURSELF SLIM AND HEALTHY
Who hasn't been there? You strictly follow your diet, but the pounds just won't fall off. You feel bloated, and an unpleasant feeling of fullness sets in after every meal. The cause can be foods that don't mix well in your stomach. Many food combinations are simply not made for each other and engage in a real battle in our digestive tract. Simple food combining rules will help you combine foods in a way that your body can process and utilize them effectively. This way, you can eat your way to a slim and healthy diet – without having to sacrifice anything.
Food combining – what exactly is it?
Especially with a predominantly plant-based diet, digestive problems can often occur. These occur when foods that our body digests quickly are eaten after foods that are digested slowly. Let's take the combination of fruit and whole grain products as an example. Fruit is digested fairly quickly, while our body takes significantly longer to process whole grain products. If you eat whole-grain bread with cottage cheese for breakfast and an apple for dessert, the apple, which is normally digested very quickly, sits on top of the whole-grain bread and cottage cheese and can ferment. This can cause gas to build up in the body, leading to bloating.
What food combining rules are there?
Food combining can support our body's digestive processes and thus promote greater well-being. The principle can be broken down as follows: Combine foods that are similar in structure and eat the one that digests fastest first. There are a few simple rules you can follow to help you feel slim soon – without having to sacrifice anything.
Food Combining Rule #1: Fruit in muesli – to be enjoyed with caution
Your favorite breakfast is creamy porridge with fresh fruit? Completely understandable. However, if you have sensitive digestion, you should try eating the fruit 20 minutes before the porridge. This gives it enough time to digest before the more difficult-to-digest grain follows. One exception: the banana. It's one of the very sweet fruits with a low water content and is the perfect partner for your muesli.
Food Combining Rule #2: Raw food before cooked food
In general, raw food is digested faster than cooked food. Therefore, it's important to eat the salad before the rest of your meal. Even if you have a craving for fruit, it's recommended to eat it before the main meal. This way, you support your body without putting additional strain on it.
Food Combining Rule #3: Vegetables as a Base
The composition of vegetables is considered neutral, which makes them easy for our bodies to digest. They also blend well with many other nutrient groups. Therefore, it's always advisable to combine vegetables with proteins or carbohydrates as a base.
What else can I do to help my body digest food?
In addition to the rules mentioned above, there are a few tricks you can use to boost your digestion and do something good for your intestines.
Adequate fluid intake
Here again, drinking is the solution. If you don't supply your body with enough water, your digestion can also suffer. Aim to drink 2 to 3 liters a day.
Regular meals
Your body loves routine. Three regular meals a day, ideally at roughly the same time each day, lays the foundation for healthy digestion. Also, make sure you avoid snacks between meals or limit yourself to one per day, perhaps between lunch and dinner, to tide you over the afternoon slump (find tips on how to put an end to energy slumps HERE ).
The BELLY BEAUTY CAPSULES from YLUMI
With our BELLY BEAUTY CAPSULES, you can provide additional support for your gut. Containing 15 viable lactic acid bacteria, vitamins, and minerals, as well as the power of herbs and medicinal mushrooms from Ayurveda and TCM, they have a regulating effect on digestion and intestinal flora. These capsules are particularly suitable after a long course of antibiotics, or simply when you want to do something good for your gut. One jar is sufficient for a 30-day course – daily intake is especially important here. For optimal results, we recommend taking BELLY BEAUTY every day for at least 1 to ideally 3-4 months. The packaging of the BELLY capsules recommends taking them in the morning, and this is correct. However, our experience and feedback show that taking them in the evening (30 minutes before bedtime with a large glass of water) is even more effective and better tolerated. This allows the probiotics to "work" undisturbed overnight. BELLY BEAUTY can be combined with all other YLUMI products.
